Healthy congregations have a balanced, vital, and dynamic spiritual life that gives momentum to the vision The spiritual activities worship, prayer, study of the Word, communication, fasting (sacrifice), fellowship, stewardship, submission, and serving/ministry each have a corporate and an individual expression. The practice of these spiritual activities release small bursts of spiritual life. One small activity privately or corporately does not cause a noticeable explosion, but repeated multi-faceted spiritual activity, both privately and corporately expressed, releases a continuous flow of spiritual reality within the church and mission of the church. Spiritual vitality occurs as the members of the body of Christ, individually and corporately, enter into spiritual activities that bring them to a deep awareness of being in the presence of the living Lord. Spiritual activities bring health, strength, vitality, and unity to the church when they are experienced in balance.
